Charlie and the Chocolate Factory & Willy Wonka (Theatre for Young Audiences)

Audition and Rehearsal Information

We are so excited to announce auditions for the role of Charlie Bucket in Legacy’s Holiday professional productions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Willy Wonk TYA.  Boys and Girls, Ages 8-11, are eligible to audition (8 or 11 at the time of auditions). These auditions are open to the general public as well as to students currently enrolled in a Legacy Theatre class. Auditions are Thursday, August 29^th from 6PM-8PM.  Those auditioning will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.  

Important Information:  

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is our mainstage production that runs November 8^th-December 15^th.  Shows are scheduled Friday at 7PM; Saturday at 2PM & 7PM; and Sunday @ 2PM.  Additional shows may be added Thursday @ 7PM and Sunday @ 7PM.  Rehearsals will begin on October 8^th and take place primarily Thursday and Friday evenings and all day on Saturday and Sunday.  Some evening rehearsals may be scheduled Monday-Wednesday.  

Willy Wonka TYA is our field trip production for area schools that takes place Mondays-Fridays in the mornings December 2^nd-December 14^th (Dec. 14^th is a public performance).  Shows are done by 12:30PM.   Rehearsals take place during the mornings November 12^th -November 24^th, with some rehearsals taking place on the weekends.  Anyone auditioning for the role of Charlie Bucket in Willy Wonka TYA must be available weekday mornings.  

Please note that we are looking for different young actors to play Charlie in these separate productions.  

What to Prepare: 

Those auditioning for the role of Charlie in either production will prepare and sing the song “Willy Wonka!, Willy Wonka!” measures 1-75.   The accompaniment, guide vocal and sheet music can all be found at this Dropbox link.  Copy and paste into your browser.
