The classic fairy tale turned Broadway musical opens at Legacy!
Cinderella runs November 11th through December 18th at The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone, GA.
Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the new Broadway adaptation of the classic musical.
This contemporary take on the classic tale features Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most beloved
songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,”
alongside an up-to-date, hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter
Beane. The Broadway adaptation of the classic musical features new characters, hilarious,
surprising twists, and an unforgettable score from Rodgers & Hammerstein.
Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s
Cinderella was twice remade for television, first in 1965 for Lesley Ann Warren and again in
1997, featuring Brandy and Whitney Houston. The original Broadway production of this version
opened in 2013 and starred Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana, Victoria Clark and Harriet Harris.
The timeless enchantment of the magical fairy tale is reborn with the Rodgers & Hammerstein
hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. An enchanting musical delight for audiences of all
ages!
The show is directed by Mark Smith, choreographed by Bethany Hayes Smith and music
directed by Jodi Cotton-Street. “Cinderella is one of the biggest shows we’ve produced here at
Legacy” says Smith. “The set, the costumes, the music, the dancing…it’s a real spectacle and I
think our audiences are going to love it. And above all the spectacle, it’s a story of love and
optimism told through beautiful music.”
“I think everyone loves the tale of Cinderella,” says Executive Producer and choreographer
Bethany Smith. “We all want a little bit of magic in our lives and something unexpected and
wonderful. Cinderella reminds us that is possible.” As an added bonus, Cinderella will be
available for photo opportunities following the show, and children who dress up like Cinderella
for the performance will receive a free magic wand.
Hannah Kuykendall stars as the title role and is making her Legacy Theatre debut in the role.
