Robbie Kirkland (Production Manager, Uncle Henry and Gatekeeper, also not Mark Smith) is excited to use his talents of playing the Gatekeeper in this production of Wizard of Oz. In 1984, New York City, his talent of gatekeeper was cut short by four men dressed in marshmallows and jumpsuits (someone called them), but it didn’t stop Robbie from pursuing his career in entertainment. He studied vocal performance at Point University, and traveled with their A capella singing group. He was the improvisation troupe leader for Newnan Theatre Company’s N.I.T.W.I.T.S., where he also performed in numerous productions, as well as managing the box office. He has also worked as an Extra and Stand-In in several television series, and films (The Walking Dead, Drop Dead Diva, Life As We Know It, Parental Guidance and others). He was a Long-Term Sub (“not a real teacher”) for Fayette County in the subjects of Drama, and English. Robbie has enjoyed performing in several productions at the Legacy Theatre (Peter Pan, Footloose, Rocket Boys, 1776, Junie B. Jones, Sound of Music and various others), but you see him now as Production Manager for most of the shows (Mr. Passerbyer, The Kite, Resort Robbie, Cowboy Robbie). He assists Mark Smith, the Artistic Director, with the productions, and manages the facilities of The Legacy Theatre.
